Bells & Whistles PR are delighted to announce that our client The Sun Inn has been awarded 2 AA Rosettes - one of the most coveted awards schemes that recognises the UK’s most outstanding places to dine!

So much so that in fact, of all the restaurants across the country, approximately only 10% are of a standard which is worthy of 1 Rosette and above.

Located in Dummer, near Basingstoke, The Sun Inn is no stranger to winning awards with its 25 year old landlord and head chef, Gordon Stott recognised as one of the UK’s most exciting chefs.

Taking over at the award-winning gastropub aged 20, Gordon has already been a finalist in the Craft Guild of Chefs ‘Pub Restaurant of the Year’ Award in 2015 and 2016, also known as the ‘chefs Oscars’.

Earlier this year, he reached the finals of the UK’s first Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year competition, having been nominated by MP for North West Berkshire Kit Malthouse, and attended the much-publicised final at the House of Commons.

The ambitious young chef has a long list of achievements under his belt and big plans for the future; obtaining the AA Rosette is just one of them. “We have been desperate for the AA to visit The Sun Inn for many years” he says. “The visit is always a surprise so the quality of your cooking has to be of a consistently high standard.”

“Luckily for us, the team here is exceptional and we are delighted that the AA thinks so too. Achieving two AA Rosettes is a dream come true and we are delighted to be recognised as one of the best places to eat in the country.”
